How People Work: A Review of Global Patterns in Office Space Utilisation

This report describes a review of 80 space utilisation studies carried out between 2011 and 2019. This review spanned projects globally, with observations primarily of three workspace types: workstations, conferences rooms and alternative work settings. In all, around 2.3 million data points were collected. The ethnographic study explored the differences between those who were working from home permanently, either by choice or by requirement, and those who lived a more hybrid version working from multiple locations.
